Main ruleExport important Rush projects now and plan your replacement before September 30, 2026.

Adobe Premiere Rush is no longer a safe recommendation for new video editing workflows.

It was a useful lightweight video editor for social clips, but Adobe has published an official discontinuation timeline.

If you still use Rush, the goal now is simple: finish current projects, export anything important, and move to a supported editing path.

Is Adobe Premiere Rush Discontinued?

Yes. Adobe's official Premiere Rush discontinuation FAQ says Rush is no longer available for download from Adobe.com or mobile app stores as of September 30, 2025.

Adobe says existing customers may continue using Rush on devices where it is already installed until the app is discontinued on September 30, 2026. Technical support also ends on September 30, 2026.

Important: new devices and operating system updates may affect Rush reliability. If Rush still works for you, do not assume it will remain stable through every OS update.

What Replaces Premiere Rush?

Adobe says Rush is being replaced by Premiere on iPhone and Premiere on desktop. Adobe also says an Android version is in development.

For serious editing, Premiere Pro remains the safer desktop path. It is more complex than Rush, but it is actively supported and far more capable.

What Existing Rush Users Should Do Now

If Rush is installed and still works, treat that installation like a temporary bridge. Do not depend on it for future client deadlines.

  1. Open Rush on the device where it still works.
  2. Finish or export active projects.
  3. Save final exports somewhere outside Rush.
  4. Collect original media files so you can rebuild edits elsewhere if needed.
  5. Start learning Premiere on iPhone or Premiere Pro before a project becomes urgent.
Best practice: export final videos and keep original media. A finished MP4 is useful, but original files give you more options if you need to rebuild.

Can You Still Download Rush?

Adobe says Rush is no longer available from Adobe.com or app stores for new downloads after September 30, 2025.

Adobe also says customers with Rush entitlements may still be able to install the desktop app through the More apps from Adobe section of the Creative Cloud desktop app before the final discontinuation date. Availability depends on your account and timing.

Adobe Premiere Rush

Premiere Rush vs. Premiere Pro in 2026

Rush was built for speed and simplicity. Premiere Pro is built for deeper editing, audio control, color work, project organization, collaboration, and professional delivery.

That does not mean every Rush user wants Premiere Pro. It does mean Premiere Pro is the Adobe desktop product with a future.

Transition tip: learn Premiere Pro with small projects first. Recreate two or three simple Rush-style edits before moving paid or client work over.
